Church History

A brief history of one of the oldest churches in Seattle

The Seattle RP congregation was established in the early 1890's, when the city was less than 40 years old. It was the first West Coast RP church, and has existed continuously since 1892. With the help of Joe Lamont, we are undertaking a project to document the history of this congregation as a testament to the sustaining hand of our Lord. We would greatly appreciate hearing from you if you have any documents, recollections or photographs that would contribute to this project.

Catechism: Question 22

Q: How did Christ, being the Son of God, become man?

A: Christ, the Son of God, became man, by taking to Himself a true body, and a reasonable soul, being conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the womb of the Virgin Mary, and born of her, yet without sin. Hebrews 2:14,16; 10:5; Matthew 26:38; Luke 1:27,31,35,42; Galatians 4:4; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26.
